HAROLD J. YATES EDUCATION  AND SCHOLARSHIP FUND

In collaborative efforts with the Joint Council 32 Executive Board, eight $2,000 scholarships are offered annually to graduating high school seniors.  The scholarship competition begins October 1 of each year, with an application deadline of February 15.  All students who have maintained a "B" average or better throughout high school and who are the children of active or retired Teamsters are eligible to apply. The University of Minnesota Labor Education Department assists verifying the winners' qualifications. The Education Fund also sponsors two $500 annual adult-learner scholarships for Teamster members themselves.

*Winners are drawn by lot.

TEAMSTERS FOOD SHELF
"Teamsters Helping Teamsters"

Located on the first level of the Minnesota Teamster Building, our Food Shelf assists Teamster members and their families when they are out of work, sick or on strike. With help from members of the Minnesota Retirees Club and other volunteers, Food Shelf Manager Joe Kabacinski (left) distributes food to dozens of Teamster families each month.

Teamster employers donate food and personal care products to the Food Shelf, which is also generously supported by the Joint Council and Local Unions.

The Teamsters Food Shelf is the only labor-run food shelf in the state of Minnesota. Teamsters and their families are eligible for our aid. In times of trouble, Teamsters help Teamsters.

HOURS

Tuesday and Wednesday
9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Members who are not able to come to the Food Shelf because of illness or distance should contact their local's business agents or officers.
